SOIL (FERTILIZER RECOMMENDATION)
The varieties types of plant can influenced the fertilizer recommendation. It can be showed at the annual crop such as maize which live only one year have difference characteristic with perennial plant. The perennial crop such as oil palm can live from year to year and will increase height when mature need more phosphorous (P) n rather than annual plants. If the life cycle of plant varieties increase the quantity of fertilizer recommendation also increase depend on the environment condition. Secondly, soil test can help the farmer estimate the right amount of fertilizer should apply to the crop based on the type of soil composition as they already know the nutrient available in the soil residue before replanting. If the type of soil is sand soil, the Water Holding Capacity (WHC) is low can cause to lower of Cation Exchange Capacity and base saturation also decrease. It can be as a guidelines for agriculture management because provide the information about soil pH and lime requirement which the farmer can apply the lime to increase the pH of soil from being to acidic. Thus, a sample of soil can interpret the macro and micro-nutrient such as phosphorus (P), potassium (K), magnesium (Mg) and calcium (Ca) by following the Sufficiency Level of Available Nutrient (SLAN). Thirdly, irrigation also influencing in fertilizer recommendation by supply the optimum level of water irrigation. It is because irrigation also can cause leaching of soil nutrient if the water contain is higher than requirement which reduce the nutrient uptake by plant. To avoid this problem, farmers use fertigation drip system in vegetable crop to ensure that the water supply is not waste and provide with fertilizer treatment by following the digital water timer. Fourthly, the previous fertilizer application can influencing the fertilizer recommendation in the future. It is because the farmer can control the cause of the deficiency or excessive nutrient on crops which is related with the cost of input by refer to the history data. For example, if the oil palm’s foliage be chlorosis because of lack in Nitrogen (N) in the past, we can assume that it need to added by the appropriate amount of N fertilizer as the recommendation. Fifthly, crop rotation influencing in the fertilizer recommendation by planting the different types of crop at the same area. It is because this method can preserve the fertility of soil so that it can be easily consumed by crop, improve the texture of soil by stored the water and fertilizer efficiently and provide the optimum pH. For example like paddy-cotton-peas and tomatoes-legumes-carrots. Sixth, tillage system influencing in the fertilizer recommendation by plowing and change the soil structure. This can help to give the better aeration for oxygen and microbial activities in soil become more productive to breaking the Nitrogen fixation. It facilitate the plant because the soil is filled with enough water, air and nutrient between the pores. Lastly, the yield gold also show the indicator about plant nutrient and health regarding to the many symptoms on plant parts. The good calibrated of nutrient sufficiency fertilizer recommendation can help to increase the yield, reduce the fertilizer inputs and save cost. For example like lower application can produce good paddy grain which is full with the milky sap.
